EDC 5392: Issues in Diversity

Spring 2027 · 3 credit hours · 1 section · 15 open seats as of Oct 30, 2026, 5:29 AM Central

This course is an analysis of issues related to diversity and the exploration of culture in both educational and organizational contexts. This course provides students opportunities to learn and reflect on historical and sociopolitical events that shaped the perception, definition, and attitudes toward all types of diversity within the hegemonic policies and practices of society and in professional settings. As students gain broader knowledge from multiple, diverse perspectives through the literature, self-reflective activities, and collaborative teaching demonstrations, they deepen their ability to seek and affect social change, justice, equity and inclusion in the school settings and other institutions.
