Spring 2027 · 4 credit hours · 1 section · 4 open seats as of Oct 30, 2026, 5:21 AM Central

This course advances concepts introduced during the Intermediate acute care surgery course. During this course, the learner participates in the Emergency general surgery (EGS) team. The learner has primary responsibility for patient care on the wards - from the history and physical examination to perioperative needs, both medical and surgical. This allows for a considerable degree of continuity of patient care. During the Emergency general surgery course, learners are required to attend all didactic sessions provided by the General Surgery Program.
